In The Moment

"In The Moment" by contemporary artist, Paula Callejas.  A collection born in that unique moment when the world paused, a gentle space that gave her time to appreciate and let life be.

These new portraits and landscapes are the result of her personal experience being quarantined in the countryside.  The first portrait of the series, features a super smooth surface accomplished by layers upon layers of paint. The only portrait in this collection featuring gold leaf. 

"The paintings come from the understanding that I am able to let things and life BE. I can fully be in the present moment and connect with this beautiful gentle feeling of love and calmness. I learnt that I can let things flow and appreciate them as they are. You can see this idea in my new portraits where I replaced harder outlines with flowing paint that slowly -layer by layer- builds the figure." - Paula Callejas
